How do I share pet care with a dog walker or sitter?

Asked at homeHow do I share pet care with a dog walker or sitter?
PupShift · Short answerGive them three things: the schedule, the essentials (vet number, feeding amounts, quirks), and a way to log what they did. In PupShift, the board’s owner sends a one-time helper link; the helper sees the pets, schedules and log, logs walks and meals, and their access ends on a date you pick.

The essentials on paper

Some things belong on a sheet: the vet’s number, emergency contacts, amounts, where the leash and bags live, and any habits. The AKC and the ASPCA both suggest leaving written instructions. Our sitter handoff sheet is ready to print.

The schedule and the log in an app

A PupShift helper link is valid for 3 days and works once. The helper sees the pets, schedules, reminders and the log, not the family album, papers or the family code. They log as they go, and you see it with their name and the time. If you give them a walk time, their phone rings then (phone app, alerts on).

When it ends

Access ends on the date the board’s owner picks, and the helper is removed automatically. Nothing to remember.

This is general information, not a substitute for advice from a vet or trainer. If something seems wrong with your pet, call your vet.
